Fine craftmanship – Machined from high quality metals with a precision lathe to ensure concentricity, parallelism, and tight tolerance of the core and body. The carbide tip resists wear. The knurled stem allows for a strong grip so that you can perfect your spin technique.

Electra 1 – One wide groove with a matching angle on the back walls of the groove. One stripe on the knurled grip. Weight: 2.7 ounces (75 grams).
Electra 2 – Two matching narrow grooves on each side. Two stripes on the knurled grip. Weight: 3 ounces (85 grams).
The Electra 1 and Electra 2 are 1.17 inches tall (29.72 mm) and 1.975 inches in diameter (50.16 mm).
Electra 3 – Concave and convex radius grooves that form a thin wall. Three stripes on the knurled grip. Weight: 3.1 ounces (90 grams).
Electra 4 – Two wide-angle grooves with matching back walls. Four stripes on the knurled grip. Weight: 3.5 ounces (100 grams).
The Electra 3 and Electra 4 are 1.17 inches tall (29.72 mm) and 2.35 inches in diameter (59.7 mm).
This spinning top is named after the 23-foot-tall, bronze statue of a goddess holding lightning bolts on top of the Alabama Power Building in downtown Birmingham, AL (Scovie Precision Turning’s home city!). The Electra spin top’s design was inspired by the statue’s power, triumph, and representation of progress.
The Electra tops come in a drawstring pouch for safe and easy storage and transport.

Another Awesome Scovie Top!
After getting #1 Electra! I was going to get #3. But I got #4. My best time had been 13:50 on #4. I was trying for over 15 minutes. I was getting ready to give up trying to beat my time for that day. I did one more spin and it felt like it was a good spin. At the 15 min mark it started to wobble, I knew it would only go another 15-30 seconds once it started to wobbling. I couldn’t believe that it kept going wobbling for over 3 minutes. My best time was 18:09! I still haven’t gotten close to that time again. Sometimes It’s really hard to get that perfect spin.
I can’t wait for Scovie to make some more new tops.

Another Awesome Top By SCOVIE!
So Far my best spin time was 15.06. But it took me a while to get there. My normal time is around
10-13 minutes.
I want to get a number 3 which has a bigger outside diameter and weighs a little more.

When I purchased one of these, I already owned one or two smaller tops. I wanted to compare the behaviour of a larger one with those. I selected the number 3 model. In ‘sleep’ mode it is quite majestic. I am absolutely delighted with it. And of course its spin time is very long!

I own all the 4 variants of the Electra top. They are all similar, but, in a way, very different, at the level of size and weight. And they are all elegant, and excellent examples of very high level craftsmanship. Very solid, spin for a long time, with the Vulcan, they make for an outstanding group of high level spinning tops, which are among the best currently available worldwide.
